Golden Globes 2012: red carpet trend

Hey lovely people,
Been a while i know, but i have been working on my next sewing project which i will be posting soon. Before then, i just had to talk about the golden globes; OMG!! so many beautiful dresses. Being the first awards ceremony of the year, the golden globes set the tone for the fashion trends we will be seeing through out this awards season.  Jewel tones and blush (nude) gowns ruled the red carpet. Nude hit the catwalk in 2010 and seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. I am definitely a fan of the nude tone. There was a lot of color also like berry, red, blue and canary yellow which gave a fresh hue to the night. Here are some of  what i would call my best looks of the night.

BLUSH AND PALE TONES

Kate Beckinsale looks spot on in this nude Roberto Cavalli dress

Charlize Theron in Origami style Dior couture. this was one of my best looks of the night. she looks perfect and fabulous

Nicole Kidman in gold studded Versace. This dress is fabulous and i think she looked drop dead gorgeous

Newly engaged Jessica Biel in a lacy Elie Saab gown. Very romantic, perfect for someone with wedding on her mind

Angelina Jolie in satin Atelier Versace gown. I think she looked gorgeous; too much hype around her and brad

Nicole Richie in Julian Macdonald. Very understated but beautiful

Lea Michelle in an embroidered dress by Marchesa. Love this dress, very sexy.

Guliana Rancic in Basil Soda. My dream dress.

Heidi "The Body" Klum in a very simple backless Calvin Klein dress and statement necklace. she doesn't need a ball gown, look at her!!!!

RED HOT

Diana Argon in high fashion Giles.

Reese Witherspoon in fire-engine red Zac Posen. Perfect! perfect! perfect! from the color of the dress to her tussled hair, just perfect!

Stacy Keibler in a body hugging red hot dress by Valentino complimented by Chopard jewels. Stunning.

BLACK IS DEFINITELY BEAUTIFUL

Sophisticated Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham.

The girl with the dragon tattoo, Rooney Mara in a cut out Nina Ricci dress

Always beautiful Juliane More in Chanel.

Sexy Salma Hayek in a beaded Gucci dress.

YELLOW MAKES A STATEMENT

Emily Blunt makes a statement in Elie Saab

     Maria Menounos in canary yellow

Mission impossible star, Paula patton in a strapless number

BERRY SWEET

"It" girl, Emma Stone in Lanvin.

                  Octavia Spencer dawns Lilac. Lovely.

Jessica Alba in an embellished Gucci dress and Bulgari jewelry. very beautiful. Gucci was the most popular designer of the night.

Natalie Portman channels Marilyn Monroe in gentlemen prefer blondes

STUNNING BLUE

All hail the mother of all dresses. Sexy Sofia Velgara in Vera Wang. This was my best look of the night. The dress is fabulous. its perfect. She was spot on with bone straight hair swept to one side, her famous curves and this midnight blue gown. Sofia completed the look with 160 Carats of Hary Winston jewels. I just died and went to glamour heaven.

Tilda Swinton, need i say more. A rebel when it comes to fashion, I love her. She is one of my fashion icons. In Haider Ackerman, she is a vision. This fashionista also wore 1940's Sapphire, diamond 18 carat gold coil bracelet and Edwardian style diamond and platinum brooches by Fred Leighton. Haider Ackerman actually designed a collection around Tilda calling her his muse.

                                      Helen Mirren  in Badgley Mischka.

Fashion Police, Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen. a little bit too old for her don't you think?
